Sam's summer look .. the bob cut!

Since the weather is so hot, I've decided to give Sam a new "do". After her footbal game at Meralco camp, she had her hair cut at Little Lamb's Salon in Fun Ranch Tiendesitas. And I was so pleased... it was her first time visit to a real salon and she enjoyed the pampering treatment.
Look how behave she was the entire time (eerrr...kudos to Barney video for keeping her busy!)

taaddaaa...Sam's bob cut! real pretty and suits her nicely!

Oh My, truly envy my daughter... she got her bob cut ala-Greta look and looks beautiful on her! She's got small frame face and the bob cut suits her perfectly for summer! Haayyy..one of my frustrations answered through my daughter. lol!

Sam's favorite treat : Roasted Chicken with Corn

This is Sam's favorite treat, Turbo Roasted Chicken with Cream Style Corn. Its been almost a tradition and our weekend staple food.

Would you believe whenever I ask her what she likes for lunch, she'll always say "chicken corn" with so much gusto! She can even guess that I am preparing her surprise treat by the smell of the chicken while being cooked. When she was little, she would even dance around the table and watch her chicken corn being cooked from the roaster. Really funny seeing her doing her famous chicken dance! Oh I can even remember her first taste of the concept "hot", was when she burned her fingers by attempting to touch the roaster! After this incident, she never touched the roaster again.

This is her comfort food! And she never gets tired eating this yummy treat! and Kuya too! Perfect lunch mates.

free medical applications for blackberry

The use of PDA technology is increasing at a dramatic rate. This includes Windows-based PDA devices, as well as Windows-based Pocket PC Smart phones. I used to own Palm Pilot (also considered PDA) which later became obsolete due to market demand of easy sharing of data and information among Windows-based systems.

As far as 'killer applications' for marketing and sales, I think CRM and SFA systems are most common, accepted and have proven to be critical corporate applications for field sales and marketing users. In our company, we are already starting to implement CRM applications to track sales performance, submit online reports and calendar activities of our sales team. Truly a very important revenue-generating sales tool.

Hence, it is not surprising to know that the PDA also evolved its application by providing medical software to physicians for drug prescription and diagnosis to patients. A comprehensive and cost effective medical application that includes mobile services and information such as: integrated drugs, diagnosis and even medical dictionary. A very handy and important medical tool in this fast-paced world. To get free medical applications for blackberry, you may check the website thru Epocrates Inc.

Off to Cebu...again

I am bound for Cebu tomorrow ... again. This time, it will just be an overnight stay.

We have an official function at Waterfront Mactan for our Cebu-based Corporate clients thus we need to be there for courtesy appearance and show our support for our provicial sales team. It will be a fun-filled and exciting night at Waterfront Mactan since Bayan will be hosting casino game for our VIP clients. Awesome prize awaits our lucky clients, MAC Books and Ipods will be given away as "casino" winnings. Hmmmm...truly exciting!

The best part of the trip, food trip galore! Love Cebu's sutukil restaurant at Mactan. This is Cebu's version of Dampa! Fresh seafoods and yummy grilled tuna served here. Also, I look forward visiting Taboan Market. Despite the smelly surroundings, love buying (and haggling) dried pusit, dilis and danggit here! Then of course my trip will not be complete without the famous CnT lechon. Real gastronomic, high cholesterol yummy treat. Hubby will be very much disappointed if I won't bring home CnT lechon hence a must stop here too.

Wanted to try Chi Spa too at Shang Mactan... been couple of years since my last Spa experience here and I am contemplating if I'll treat myself for an ultimate spa treatment. Very, very pricey indulgence! Though not sure if I still have time to indulge... but still hoping.

Anyway, will miss bratinella's futbol camp this Saturday. I'll also miss shoe shopping of hubby and Ico too. It's gonna be boys day out as they claim, Hmmm... I wonder if Daddy can handle Sam (and Ico) for couple of days. Let's wait and see.

Unimportant Facts about Me

I owe Jody this tag weeks ago .. and finally, was able to find time to finish this tag (was blogger-lazy lately you know! enjoyed bloghopping and reading latest chika from blogger friends.)

Anyway, here it goes ...

The rules: Link to the person that tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Share six un-important things/habits/quirks about your self. Tag 6 random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. Let these random people know that they are tagged by leaving comments in their blog.Let your tagger know when your
entry is up.
Six Unimportant things/habits/quirks about myself:
1. I love party planning. I find joy throwing parties for my family and friends. If ever I've got bottomless funds ... might sponsor parties for my friends pa! Hahaha!
2. For my stuff at home, I want my rugs, kitchen appliance covers, bed covers, towels etc. in matching themes or color. Example: hand towels should be color-coordinated with the bathroom color. All bathroom rugs should be same color.
3. Lately, hubby and I love to watch Korea-novela ... latest fave, LOVERS from Channel 2.
4. My favorite comfort food: Doritos with Salsa dip (medium hot) or Chips Ahoy Chunky! My grocery trip will not be complete without these food items.
5. I love shopping ... eerrr buying! Be it grocery shopping, wet market, window shopping or online shopping! Basta I love the freedom of choosing and buying something new. Bad habit, I know... Thus, I never consider grocery shopping, going to market or buying gift as an errand I need to do ... but it is a pleasurable therapy for me.
6. I am so lazy to follow any beauty regimen. I rarely go to derma (as in once a year lang ata) or apply any night cream/moisturizer/sunblock. Very Bad!! At my age now, I should be conscious of my skin, wrinkles, pout lines etc. What is funny, I think I was able to try and collect different types of moisturizers already ... mostly used few times and then left untouched, or given-away to my Mom. I easily get influenced by good advertisments (sooo gullible of me!!)
Now I am tagging Erika, MM, Shiela, Nol, Joy D and Vien. Have fun girls!!

Wish list: LV Galliera PM

Just saw the new LV Monogram Canvas LV Galliera PM. Real nice and eye-candy, right?

I know, I know...I promised I won't be buying any designer bags for the next monthssss ... BUT, aargghh... really, really tempting!!

Look at the bag-design, hobo-type with shiny LV plate and adjustable strap. So girly and pretty!! I just wish the Galliera PM looks good in person than the website picture.
But the price, haayy... way beyond my budget!!

Oh well, need to do a quick trip to LV Greenbelt this weekend for a bag fitting ... that is, if the bag is already available here in Manila.

Haay...wish, wish, wish! :)

Holiday Off

Holiday break was spent again to our favorite summer get-away, Club Manila East. Since this is only 8 minutes drive away from our place, this is our immediate answer to beat the summer heat. With our swimsuits on, we headed towards CME right after breakfast.

I heart CME so much because of its proximity to our place. It offers reasonable entrance fee and cottage rental, and food price is very, very affordable. Despite no food and drinks allowed in the area, Jollibee and Shakey’s food carts available here. Restaurant food is also yummy with our favorite mangga with bagoong, sizzling squid and sisig. Real yummy!

As usual, Ico and Mike spent most of their time enjoying the giant slide (as in countless times!) and wave pool. While I was tasked to be Sam’s nanny in the kiddie pool.

Sharing some of our summer pix at CME ...

After spending the day at CME, went home and decided to cook something special for the family. Since I still have left over spaghetti sauce last week, decided to do magic “quick-fix” and cooked more sauce to serve the hungry boys. Sadly, was not able to take pictures of the pasta meal since it was immediately goofed down by Ico and Mike. Well, next time …

Then for dinner, was in the mood to cook kare-kare. Ever since I discovered Lola Idang’s Kare-kare near our place, was sooo lazy to cook this viand. It is easy to buy take out you know! With P160, you can buy one palayok of kare-kare hassle-free! But recently, Lola Idang’s resto is undergoing renovation thus no kare-kare/ crispy pata available for take out for months now :(

Anyway, take a peek to my simple kare-kare below…

sauteing the pork tail and cooking bagoong on the side ... (alternative since no oxtail available)

the end product ... kare-kare ala jacqui!!

switching medical career as x-ray technician

As I’ve previously blogged, was delighted for my cousin who passed nursing board exam recently. After passing the board, she’s eager to pursue her studies by getting medical training abroad. One of the lucrative training options is to further train as xray technician. An x-ray technician is responsible for operating high tech medical technology such as MRI, x-ray machines and other scanning and imaging devices. It may not be as prestigious work as doctors but the demand for x-ray technician is very high especially for UK and Middle East countries. Really promising, huh?!

The program for radiologic technican lasts for 1-4 years depending on the accelerated certifications such as registered nurses who wish to switch careers. For my cousin’s case, this program may last two years before she earns the Associate degree to be a full-fledged xray technician. Another medical career option really worth considering for her advance courses.

Futbol Funatics Summer Camp

Registered Sam for Futbol Funatics Summer Camp yesterday, and boy..I was so happy and excited seeing her enjoying the game. Only few girls enrolled for the Beckenham Buddies class (age 3-6 years old) , and I can see that she slowly enjoys the game despite the summer heat.

First day, was simply getting to know the game..playing and kicking the ball around. Sam at first was quite hesitant staying on the field because of the heat, but eventually she participated with the group excercises. The class size was initially overwhelmingly big, with celebrity parents Mylene Dizon and Paolo happily cheering for their son Tomas, while Marvin Agustin came for the trial class with his twins. Real Cutie pair!

Second day was even better, longer attention span and playing time for Sam. She enjoyed kicking the ball towards the goal, running and goofing around with other kids, happily enjoyed doing the warm up games and play scrimmage with her classmates. Class size was divided to maintain the ideal teacher-student ratio too.

Futbol Camp is chika time too with another fellow mommy blogger, Tet. While our kids Izech and Sam busy playing under the sun with our hubbies watching them, Tet and I busy exchanging chika moments away from the sun! Vain mommies!! We’re afraid of getting burned noh! Mahirap magpa-puti..wala na kami budget pa-Belo! Hahaha!

Sharing some of Sam's Futbol Camp pictures... pardon the pictures if too small and far. Afraid si Mommy to stay under the sun! Hahaha!

one-on-one with coach

finally, game over ... with proud daddy!

spring sale online shopping

Finally, I was able to buy some items from Old Navy's Spring Sale.

Bought few items (capris and skinny jeans) for the bratinella. Super happy I got it really, really cheap!

Now I am really addicted to online shopping! Hahaha! Thanks to my online shopping guru, Peachy!

Then I got her this cutie pair of sneakers from RL ... nope, not on sale but still nice for her everyday use.

switching medical career as pharmacy technician

I am happy to say my favorite niece passed the nursing board exam last February 21, 2008. It has been her longest dream to enter the medical field and nursing was one of her choices as an entry-level next to being a pharmacy technician.

I’ve heard great reviews on this particular medical profession thus my niece is contemplating of switching careers and be a pharmacy tech. The opportunity to work overseas is high and the demand for this field increases compared to other medical professions. Moreover, pharmacy technician salary is very competitive and very well compensated. Thus, making it an attractive option for her to consider switching career from her present job.

As I’ve told my niece before, though salary or compensation may be one of the greatest contributing factors for career consideration, still it is very important to consider the demands of the job and the happiness it will bring to her. If serving and caring for people will be her true calling, then she needs to follow her heart and heed her calling. Ensure the total well-being of people is a noble and fulfilling career decision. Truly admirable!

enrolling in culinary schools

After achieving my Hotel and Restaurant Administration degree from UP Diliman, it has been my ultimate dream to further continue my studies and enroll in an internationally acclaimed culinary schools such as CCA (California Culinary Academy) or at prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Vegas.

After learning the basic cooking skills during my undergraduate years, I am interested to experiences and learn more on different international food preparation such as Asian (Thai and Japanese) and Italian schools. Also being gifted with a sweet tooth, baking or pastry-making is another avenue I want to specialized in and be known for it.

I even aspired to enroll in chef school, to become a world-class chef here in Manila. That is because aside from planning to be future restaurant owner, I dreamed of setting up my own catering business for intimate parties or large corporate functions. Another reason why I love parties so much! With all the plans I have in mind, it is best to get experience and further enhance my cooking skills by enrolling to culinary schools. This way, I can be a well-rounded restaurant and business owner, and a world-class chef.

plain lazy and etcetera ...

Nope...not bitten (yet) by the preggo bug.

Just plain LAZY to blog. Eversince my other blog got PR0 rating, was so tamad. Very few "rakets" received lately. As in. Huhuhu! Nahinto ang aking pagyaman!! Syeeet! So, no kwentos and updates lately. Di kailangan ng fillers eh.. Hahaha!

I sooooooo envy twitters nila Aggie, Apols, Thea and Kelly. Hmmm... ito ba uso ngayon? I wonder if this is possible with blogspot.

So yun... little etcetera updates lang. babaw noh!

Promise, one of these days I'll enrol my detour blog to "rakets" ... kaya, babangon uli ako at yayaman!!! bwahahaha!

Boat donations to charity

Imagine this … you are with your significant other, enjoying the beauty of the dusk at hand and sailing to the sunset. Quite a site, don’t you think so? I am sure that you’ll give up anything to step into that scene, right?

But before you continue thinking of what else could happen, try to take a step back and tinker of this instead … what if the boat that used was donated instead? Yes, you heard it right! You Donate Boats! If the boat was donated instead, then just image how many children in the world would benefit from it through informative animation and anti-drug documentaries. This is what I learned about donate my boat to charity or
http://www.carangel.com/projects.html . Cool site for boat donations … do check it out. Another site to visit that would surely uplift your spirits is www.boatangel.com/boatangel-outreach-center/index.htm

Now, next time you go off daydreaming … think about the less fortunate children that would rather sail off to their lives with renewed spirits and confidence.
