money matters

If money is not an issue, I would have been away travelling, enjoying the rest of the world. I would instantly booked for a US Tour together with my family in an instant. I would probably bring the kids to Anaheim or Florida for Disneyland Tour or enjoy the great sights of LA. Book at a lavish hotel in San Diego California hotel or probably indulge in the famous JW Marriot Hotel. I've always dreamed of bringing them to US to simply enjoy the sights at Fisherman's Wharf, see the magnificent Golden Gate and walk at Napa Valley vineyard. That is, if money is not an issue. But with the impending economic crisis in the US, I don't think this would be possible now. Not wise to spend abroad especially with my condition now. Need to save up, you know. Since something big coming next months. Oh well, if money is not an issue.

Now I can go about my life without worrying too much. And al i have to do now is pay for it and everything will be set.

healthy take out meal?

Don’t you just love holidays? It gives you a perfect excuse to forget all your diet and just enjoy all the meals you want to eat.

For weeks now, I’ve been craving for Dampa seafood. Remember my previous post how I love to eat shrimps, crabs and squids … crave no more! Last Monday, hubby and I decided to pig-out (which we normally do!) by ordering to go meals from Dampa Libis. Since our helpers decided to have a holiday-off, hubby and I drove to Dampa Libis to get our ever favorite, buttered garlic shrimps and crabs. Imagine, just the three of us for dinner … we ordered a kilo of each just to satisfy our seafood cravings. Oh so yummy and oh so bad! Not your healthy way of cooking food. And with so much fat from all the buttery food, we neutralized our palate by ordering grilled squid. An attempt to healthy cooking with so much guilty eating cholesterol and fats that day. Hahaha!

Regretfully, I forgot to take pictures of the said seafood feast. With so much excitement and hunger from our take-out order, we immediately attacked and enjoyed the food. Hahaha!

obesity problem

Obesity is something that is not isolated to a certain race or nationality. But rather, this has been a consistent problem everybody … as in everybody, is faced with. That is why fat burners are becoming an essential “way of life” of practically everyone.

Burning fats has become a multi-billion industry worldwide. And it has captured the imagination and vision of everyone. From manufacturing equipment, to medical advancements, all these lead to one thing … to burn fats. Now, fat burner come is various shapes and sizes. It may be as simple as taking diet pills or to as complicated as medical procedures to rid ourselves of the unwanted fats.

But with all these innovations, the best and most effective is going back to the basics… the basics of eating the right food. fat burner is most effective if there is “less fat” to burn. Hence, eating the right food the body need, makes the easier for the natural “fat burning” activities a normal person does. Because a person tends to burn fats the natural way. And if this still fails … then fat burners are always available right off the shelves.

boots online

As I browse the web for any possible online shoe sale for the bratinella, I saw the UGG Mayfaire boots online ideal for outdoor use. The boot-cut style is very classy, and I just love the material used. It is made of soft suede sheepskin material with lightweight EVA outsole. Making it really comfy and stylish worn with jeans or skirts. I am thinking of getting one for myself in sand color. The color will be just perfect to match my new dark trousers I got from Esprit in Hongkong. Hmmm... can't wait. It would be really nice and ideal get-up for the winter season.

world without television

Imagine a world without tv … I can’t. Ever since the inception of this technology, the world is never the same again. The reach of this invention has gone far and wide. Traveling seems to be a distant past when everyone can see the beauty of the world right at the comforts of one’s living room. The world in its full hue has transcended boundaries, across continents. Thus, appreciating the world around us more relevant.

But as much as the TV has given everybody a view of the world, it is not only the beauty has been seen. The negative side has always been the counterpart of beauty. The television has also managed to depict the darker side of life, thru the violence portrayed by the TV. News from all the corners of the world showcases calamities, wars and even death.

Nevertheless, tv has impacted our lives today more than anything else (except for Internet perhaps). It has molded how we live our lives thru the information we derive from it. And it only goes to show how unbiased the TV is … it delivers to us the real scenario … be it good or bad.

diet plan not enough.

As I was sorting our vacation pictures, I noticed that hubby is excessively gaining weight too! I think he gained 10lbs for the past six months...and still gaining more. Blame it on excessive dining out with clients, buffet meals during weekends and late night delivery snacks. Despite using the treadmill every morning, playing basketball on weekends, limiting rice intake, and eating yogurt in-between meals, his diet plan is not enough! That's why I am thinking of getting him diet pills like alli to keep him in shape. With the upcoming holiday season, I am sure he'll gain more weight with all the Christmas partying and late night drinking. You see, I need to prep him as early as now to minimize those unwanted fats. Otherwise, he'll be forced to consider cosmetic surgery to eliminate those unwanted bulges in a jiffy!

You see, I enjoy arranging parties for families and friends. I love giving parties. I find joy in picking party menu from appetizers , salads, main course to desserts. I enjoy thinking party gimiks, themed-decors and making people happy. I love seeing my family and friends enjoying the party. While I, busy on the sideline ensuring guests are satisfied with the results or outcome of the party. It gives me different kind of adrenalin rush by preparing for the party and most especially on the actual day of the event. Weird, huh? Sometimes I wonder why I am in a telecommunications industry rather than in events and coordination business. I think this is my ultimate calling ... or perhaps I should be a wife of politician, busy hosting parties and charities for a worthy cause. Hehehe!
Thus looking at my list now ... it's really a busy, busy party months. Need to start shopping for Christmas gifts as early as now to beat the holiday rush.

Something Purple's blagbertdey

My dear blogger Em of Something Purple celebrated her 4th blagbertdey last Aug 19. And to commemorate the natal day of her blog, a game was introduced to spice up her blog. And of course, I sooo want to join!

I can still remember my first visit to Em's blog...Something purple, a detour. I was a newbie then to blogging. I can even remember my message on her cbox loving the idea of creating a detour blog from her main blog. Really cool! :) Then I saw her post about the new LV purple EPI collection. I so love it! First time I saw the purple collection of LV..and saw it first at her blog. And yes, like Em I am LV-fanatic girl too! Then her next post on purple LV VERNIS bag ... you see, I can always remember almost all her LV posts! Hahaha! One of the main reasons why I love checking out her blog. :)
Congrats Em!! Looking forward to more LV posts and updates in the next years to come! lol.

4th Birthday Plans update

After blogging Samantha's upcoming 4th birthday party last month here, I am now more determined to complete my party preps. As of today, the guest list expanded and the party plans become bigger. Blame it on the excited Dad, who initially disliked the idea of another "big" party. But after learning I plan to extend my invites to some of my close colleagues, he wanted to do just the same especially with the party venue just a stone throw away from his office.
My goal this week is to look for nice invite that would match my party theme and venue. I've been searching for party ideas on the web and I found http://www.invitationconsultants.com/ site truly helpful. The site offers customized invitations and stationeries for any celebrations or occasion you can think of. From birthdays, baptism, wedding invitations, baby shower, bridal invites and even Quinceanera invitations! No more worries thinking about party themes, invite wordings or budget, all these can be viewed from the site with an optional eproof reading. Hmm...truly great offer. Now my next problem is finding a bigger party venue that can accommodate our expanded guest list. Wish me luck.

back from Baguio

Just got back from the Ciy of Pines, Baguio. Despite the rains and cold weather, we enjoyed our short Baguio vacation. We came and attended our dear friend's wedding at Baguioand enjoyed our two-stay at the Manor. Very relaxing! I've got so much stories to tell and pictures to share, you may view it here. Need to sort my "pasalubong" shopping first and call the office. I received an alarming call from one of our IT support engineers and told me our HP back up drivers, had some trouble. I hope they were able to fix it. Otherwise will be getting another tape drives which is not part of our CAPEX budget this year. Big trouble! Really praying just minor problem and they were able to something about it.

stylish frames

Ever experienced having problems with your prescription glasses? Or ever wanted to upgrade but afraid of the high cost? Then you have not been to ZenniOptical. I was amazed by the range of eyewear they offer. From the vast selection of frames, it is impossible that you won’t get one. And I am talking about only of the frames … wait until you see the various types of lenses they have.

From single vision to tinted lenses, to bifocal and progressive lenses. Most of all, my favorite is the sunsensor lenses. Its equipped with the “potochromic” technology that filters out the harmful UV rays. Talk about the very essence of wearing an eyewear! And most of all, products are Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni and ensure absolute protection. And with its website popularity, Zenni Optical was on FOX news!

With all these this said, now you must be very worried on the price … guess again! These eyewear products from Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses truly affordable! Main reason for which is that it does not pass thru middlemen … therefore, dropping the price further. So … what are you waiting for?

early Christmas wishlist

Yes, as early as August 3 .. Kuya Ico already signified his Christmas wish list. More than four months ahead ... and to think we are not yet in the -ber months! As per Ico, the earlier he tells me, the earlier I can save up! Wa-is!

His Christmas wishlist are as follows:

1. Since his computer quite old and been slow lately, he's asking for new computer desktop with higher memory and RAM capacity. I guess this is for his online gaming, downloading and videos.

2. new PS3 that he's been eyeing for months now.

3. MAC book --- Still thinking about it. Very expensive toy for his age. But I was surprised that he was able to plan out how to get this gift! He told me he's thinking of asking cash gifts from his aunts ($100 each), lolo and lola's, his dad, from me and hubby. He computed how he can get $1K to buy his MAC book by asking us rolled-into-one gift for christmas, birthday and graduation gift.

No promises yet ... I told him the gift will depend on his grades. Though I never had any problems with his academic performance, and I am confident he'll graduate gradeschool with flying colors ... I still believe in giving gifts in moderation. Item 3 is too much! Even if he can come up with the $1K to buy the MAC book..still think its too much for his age. Hehehe!

Anyway, let's see ... it is still five months away.

Baguio Wedding_ 08.08.08

I am off to Baguio this Friday to attend the much-awaited wedding celebration of my colleague, Anne. It's a perfect wedding date, August 08 2008 (08-08-08) which is believed to be lucky for Chinese. We've already made hotel accommodations and travel arrangements, but I haven't decided what gown to wear. Since it's kinda rainy lately, I am thinking of wearing something warm to protect me from the cold breeze of Baguio. I already browsed the web for gown designs and I saw the perfect gown for me. Since I am on a slightly heavy side, I saw plus size dresses to fit my body too! Really perfect!
Look at th fab gowns I so want to buy online ...

Lovely designs, don't you think so? Really worth checking it out. Aside from evening gowns, cocktail dresses, prom dresses and bridal gowns, the site also offers accessories to complement the look like designer shoes , jewelry and evening bags. Price really affordable too! I just hope I can get the these gowns on time for the wedding this Friday.

great finds: modern furniture store

During my two weeks vacation, I've been very busy with some home improvements such as re-arranging our bedroom furniture and fixtures, securing new door locks for our bedroom, getting new household items and changing our bedroom look and theme. I am thinking of getting modern furniture pieces to keep our bedroom design updated.

I’ve been planning for several months to change the master’s bedroom overall theme, and I just found the perfect site to complement the modern bedroom look I so want. Thanks to www.eroomservice.com I was able to find modern furniture that matches our modern minimalist look. From the cabinets, dressers and bed design, the bedroom set is simply perfect for my taste. So excited … I can’t wait to show my great finds to hubby. I am sure he will approve and love the new design for our bedroom especially with the modern furniture pieces I've chosen for our bedroom.

looking for party entertainment.

I've been planning and coordinating parties for my friends and relatives for years now. Nope, I am not doing it as a professional service but out of my love and passion for parties! They usually ask for party ideas and assistance since they know I've got quite a good number of trusted and dependable party suppliers. Besides, they've seen parties I've arranged for my kids and immediate families, and they seem to like the outcome of my coordinated parties. Of course, I am happy and thankful they loved my parties.
Thus, I am not surprised when my cousin from California asked for assistance on her upcoming debut party. I would definitely love to help! For starters, I gave her option to hold a dinner-dance type of party with live band or mobile dance party. I guess nowadays, hiring DJ for parties are sure hit among college students! I asked her to check out san diego disc jockey since I've read great reviews from their previous clienteles. The company boasts extensive selection of music database that would definitely fit every guests' genre which I assume mostly the hiphop and R&B crowd. Think they also offer personal playlist that would be perfect to suit the host's party music selection. Really great, huh? The company even offers variety of party package from preparation, to music materials, equipment rental taking in consderation the budget of the celebrant. Really a blessing for budget-conscious like my cousin. And since my cousin lives at Lakeside, California travel cost already FREE of charge! Lastly, with their pool of talented and well-experienced DJs, I am sure her debut party will be a great hit and talk of the town.
Unfortunately, I wish I can join her on this special day of her life. With my previous work commitment, I am afraid I'll just have to take the sidelines now and offer all supplier list I can give her to ensure success of her party. To my dear cus April, wishing you all the best!

sink shopping online

When we are doing our house construction two years ago, I specifically asked our contractor to splurge and install good quality materials on two parts of the house: kitchen and bathrooms. I particularly insist on high quality and durable fixtures such as tiles, faucets, showers and sinks since this is subject to wear and tear over time. True to his word, he made sure to install good quality fixtures such as shower heads and faucets from Kohler. Kinda pricey compared to other bathroom fixture brands, but really durable and tested over time. Hence, when I saw available farmhouse sinks on the net, I immediately asked him to consider using this for our guest bathroom. Well aside from using durable marble material, aesthetic-wise, it will blend very well with our modern-minimalist theme. Unfortunately with the house-turn over deadline to complete, it was impossible to purchase the sink online. But nevertheless, hubby and I vowed on our next house construction (hopefully couple of years from now); will definitely place our order ahead of time.

hubby's life insurance

Hubby’s life insurance payment is due next week. Since I am stuck here in the hospital, need to find ways how I can settle his quarterly dues to avoid penalty. I don’t want to be a delinquent member since I know how important this obligation to secure our future.

I’ve heard some sad news from my friends and relatives how frightening having no insurance these days. Aside from losing loved ones, the family is left with debts to settle hospitalization and burial expenses, making it more difficult for the family to move on. Thus, it is very important to consider getting term life insurance to protect and prepare the family in case of emergency.

I’ve found good life insurance options on the web. There are options of buying term life policy online without the need for medical exam. Initial life insurance quotes can be computed by encoding the individual’s desired length term, coverage and mode of payment. As easy as 1-2-3, life insurance quotes already available for consideration.

missing my client ...

Got sad news from one of my good clients today she informed me that she will be migrating to the US anytime next month. She’s been looking forward to their family petition papers for months now and this is welcome news to her.

Initially she plans to stay in New Jersey together with her family, but later on she’s thinking of moving to Philadelphia to start life of her own. Though unsure yet with her future here, but as early as now she’s starting to check out Philadelphia jobs available for her. Hopefully she can start her business career once she's settled in Philly. I'll definitely miss my client once she leaves for US. She's one of the sweetest, and thoughtful clients in the telecoms industry. But I am sure she'll be happy since she'll be finally reunited with her family. Goodluck ,girl! Wishing you all the best!
